Bandar Seri Begawan - The Halal Food Control Section, as the main agency to monitor the halalness of food for Muslim consumption, is continuing to take measures to ensure that food vendors conform with the rules and regulations, RTB reported.

Fourteen law enforcers from the Halal Nod Control Section conducted an inspection of the food stalls at the open area in front of the Royal Regalia Building in the capital. A similar operation was held at the Sumbangsih Mulia food court in Beribi.

According to an officer, the inspection was held to ensure that the food vendors comply with the regulations on halal food, RTB reported.

He said they are required to produce proof of purchase recognised by the Brunei Islamic Council, RTB said.
