Indonesian athletes for Asian Indoor Games arrive in Macao

Macao - An 82-member Indonesian contingent for the 2nd Asian Indoor Games arrived here on Wednesday after a five-hour flight from Jakarta.

Led by former national swimmer Lukman Niode, the second batch of the Indonesian contingent will take part in the games that will take place from October 26 to November 3.

Among the contingent members are athletes for the bowling, chess, billiards, futsal, skate board and fin swimming competitions.

Meanwhile, the first batch of the Indonesian contingent led by Kusnan Ismukanto had arrived on Monday.

Another batch of the Indonesian team will leave for Macao on October 27 and 29.

Indonesia sent a total of 112 athletes for 13 numbers of sports, 24 coaches, 12 managers and 19 officials.

The 13 sports numbers are aerobics, indoor athletics, bowling, chess, billiard, wall climbing, dance sports, southern lion dance, fin swimming, futsal, hoop takraw, swimming and skate board.

In the first Asian Indoor Games held in 2005 in Thailand, Indonesia which only sent 20 athletes secured the 14th position with one gold, one silver and two bronzes.
