More effective measures applied to protect teacher in the south

Pattani, Thailand – The security measures to protect teachers from violence attack will be improved in the upcoming new semester after Army Commander-in-Chief Gen. Anupong Paochinda oversees the issue by himself, according to Deputy Education Minister Varakorn Samkoses.

The new army chief has arranged the new administrative structure for more effective implementation of security measures, said Mr. Varakorn, who held talk with local teachers and education officials in Pattani to give a policy on solving educational problem in the violence ridden province on Friday.

The deputy education minister said the government is concerned about teachers‘ safety and is ready to support them.

The government has laid out six strategies to develop education in the three southern border provinces and will provide better welfare to boost teachers‘ morale.
