Denpasar - Country delegations attending the 13th Conference of Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Nusa Dua, Bali, are expected to be able to visit tourist objects in various parts of Indonesia.
"We hope the delegations from 189 countries will not only visit Bali but also go to other parts of Indonesia to witness the diversity of Indonesian arts and culture as well as the country‘s natural beauty," Culture and Tourism Minister Jero Wacik said here on Tuesday.
He said forms had been distributed among UNFCCC participants in which they were asked to indicate whether they were interested in visiting other tourist destinations in Indonesia after attending the conference.
"We have prepared special tours for UNFCCC delegates who wish to visit other tourist destinations in the country," the minister said.
He said the tours among others included visits to Yogyakarta, Tanah Toraja, West Nusa Tenggara and several other tourist destinations.
To make the "Visit Indonesia 2008" program a success, Jero Wacik had also distributed brochures on Indonesian tourism among UNFCCC delegates who were expected to take the literature home with them.
He said more than 100 tourism-related activities and festivals would be conducted in several parts of the country next year in a bid to attracts foreign tourists.
