Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei - Dikir Sharafil Anam prayers were held throughout the country, mostly at mosques, last night to mark Mauludul Rasul, the birthday celebration of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The Acting Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Awang Hj Othman, was among those who performed dikir prayers at Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque last night.
Also present were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Mohiddin, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Dato Paduka Hj Ishaaq Hj Abdullah, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The ceremony began with mass recitation ofAl-Fatihah verses, followed by the reading of several dikirs by representatives from the Ministry of Communications, BIBD Dikir Team, departments under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, working committee members of Takmir MOAS, as well as teams representing Al-Muhtadee MOAS and KAKRIM 82 Kg Lambak Kanan.
Meanwhile, the Royal Brunei Police Force held a separate dikir ceremony at the surau of the RBPF Headquarters.
The Commissioner of Police, Pehin Dato Kerma Setia CP Dato Paduka Seri Zainuddin Jalani, was among those who performed the special prayers (Azaraimy HH).
