Singapore product and fashion designers link up

Singapore - Product and fashion designers from Singapore are staging a joint initiative in April in a bid to bring their design disciplines closer together.

The collaborative project, called Blueprint 2008, has been organised through the government-backed DesignSingapore Council, and will take place at a number of venues across the country, including this week`s Singapore Fashion Festival in Ngee Ann City, and the Samsung Flagship store in VivoCity.

Under the Blueprint 2008 banner, the cohort of emerging fashion and product designers will also have a presence at the Milan furniture fair next month (16-21 April).

Designers will showcase their work in five groups, each subdivided with a mix of product and fashion designers. Design groups taking part will include Crisp Design Partners, Posse, Exit Design, Antebellum, Abyzz, Jienshu, Ben Wu and Nicholas.

The Blueprint 2008 identity has been created by Hanson Ho, who has created all the visual communications material for the event. The environmental design for the initiative`s stand in Milan is being overseen by architect Lim Wei Ling, who was awarded Singapore`s President`s Design Award last year.
