Temburong Story Telling Competition

Temburong - A story-telling competition was held in the Temburong District at the Amo Primary School.

The competition was organised by the Language & Literature Bureau of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Present as the guest of honour was the Director of the Language & Literature Bureau, Awg Hj Abd Talib bin Hj Tasim.

Ten students took part in the competition representing the primary schools in the Temburong District. Dyg Nurul Hidayati Kamis of Puni Primary school vas-the champion of the competition with a score of 78 per cent for her story ‘Si Bongsu‘.

Meanwhile, second place went to Dyg Salvina Baru of Labu Primary school for her story ‘Udang Galah‘ and third place went to Dyg Nurfaezah Awg Jasni of Sultan Hassan Bangar Primary school with a score of 75 per cent for her story ‘Gelas yang kurus‘.

Dyg Nurul Hidayati Kamis will be representing the Temburong District at the National Story-Telling competition, which will be held at a later date.

The competition also saw traditional dances performed by the students of Amo Primary school. The traditional dances included were the Iban, Murud as well as Malay numbers.
