A Pesantren for Migrant Workers in Malaysia-Indonesia Border

Samarinda - An Islamic boarding school (pesantren) will be provided for the children of Indonesia`s migrant workers (TKI) working in Sebatik Island, at the Indonesia -- Malaysia border area.

”The government has allocated Rp5 billion for this project,” said Farid Wadjdy, director of Bunga Bangsa Foundation, which will manage the pesantren. According to Farid, the pesantren is intended to accommodate the TKI`s children`s need for education, given that they have not been getting adequate schooling. FIRMAN HIDAYAT
