Bandar Seri Begawan - Last September 26th marked the Golden Jubilee anniversary of the Sultan Omar `Ali Saifuddien Mosque, which was celebrated with a series of events.
Following these celebrations, the high-committee of the Sultan Omar `Ali Saifuddien Mosque Golden Jubilee Celebration will organise yet another grand event, which is the opening of the Sultan Omar `Ali Saifuddien Mosque Golden Jubilee Exhibition, as well as the launching of a special coffee-table format book called `Buku Sejarah Ristaan 50 Tahun Masjid Omar Ali Saifuddien` (50 Historic Years of the Sultan Omar `Ali Saifuddien Mosque Commemorative Book) tomorrow.
Five thousand units of the 248-page book will be available for sale to the public in both Malay and English version.
The exhibition will be held at the Brunei Museum Building, in Jalan Kota Batu, Bandar Seri Begawan and will be open to the public for two months from 9am until 4.30pm everyday except for Friday, when the exhibition will be open from 9am until 11.30am and from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Visitors of the exhibition will be able to view the history of the construction of the Sultan Omar `Ali Saifuddien Mosque right from the beginning until its opening ceremony, as well as the various activities throughout 1958 until 2009, such as the solemnisation of marriage ceremonies of members of the royal family, His Majesty`s first Friday sermon at the mosque in 1992 and many more.
The public is welcome to view the exhibition right after the opening ceremony tomorrow. By Syafiq Affendy
