Indonesian Products To BE Displayed At Hong Kong Expo

Hong Kong - Indonesia will display products of its small and medium enterprises at the 8th World SME Expo 2008 from December 10 to 12 in Hong Kong.

“A number of our SME products will be promoted and offered to local and foreign buyers at the event,” Haris Munandar, trade section staff of the Indonesia Consulate General in Hong Kong said Tuesday.

He said the main purpose to participate in the expo was to build a network to disseminate information on the Indonesian SME products. This was the fifth time that Indonesia participate in the expo as an important effort to increase its exports to the former British colony, as well as to other parts of the world, he added. “Also participating in the exhibition will be hundreds of companies and buyers coming from many countries,” Munandar said.

The products however will also for display, but interested buyers would have to contact the Indonesian consulrate general here.”We will assign a staff at our pavilion to answer questions from interested visitors,” he said.

Leaflets and brochures on the Indonesian exhibits will also be distributed among the visitors at the event. One special product on display at the Indonesian pavilion is a kind mineral water produced from dew, which has entered the export market.

He said that the event organizers have projected the number of visitors to this year‘s expo at 26,000, besides 4,048 companies from China, and 1,337 from Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, India, and Vietnam. ( ant )
