Students Hone Skills in Creative Islamic Calligraphy Workshop

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - Some 100 students from various schools yesterday gained an in-depth knowledge in a Creative Islamic Calligraphy Workshop at the Institute of Medicine.

Islamic calligraphy dates back to the Islamic civilisation 1,400 years ago. Known as writings in hadith and al-Quran, the art of Islamic calligraphy is considered unique and special.

The objective of the workshop was aimed at providing knowledge and experience as well as transform oneself to a dynamic and successful entrepreneur to reduce unemployment, to share the knowledge and experience as well as success in realising theory, concept, strategy and reality of an entrepreneur on the art of Islamic calligraphy.

Students participating in the workshop were from Rimba II Primary School, Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, SOAS College and SMJA.

Present to deliver the workshop were Awang Alomsa bin Noradzmin of History Centre, Awang Zakaria bin Omar from SMJA and Pg Yusdi bin Pengiran Rumbli from Islamic Dakwah Centre.
