Kuala Lumpur - Pos Malay-sia is marking the golden jubilee of the reign of the Sultan of Kedah with a special issue of stamps.
Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu`-adzam Shah, who became sultan in 1958, will launch the issue at Istana Anak Bukit in Alor Star tomorrow.
The issue has three designs. The 30-sen stamp shows Gunung Jerai and padi fields, depicting Kedah as an agricultural state. The 50-sen stamp depicts the old office of the state secretary, while the RM1 stamp is an illustration of modern-day Alor Star.
The stamps, available in sheets of 22, will be on sale nationwide from tomorrow. Limited edition folders with a set of stamps and first day covers will be selling at RM47.20 at all philatelic bureaus.
