Sultan Brunei Arrives For Two-day Working Visit

Kuala Lumpur - The Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, arrived at the Subang Airport here Monday for a two-day working visit beginning Tuesday.

His Majesty was accompanied by 15 senior government officers.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Energy, Water and Communications Minister were on hand to greet the Royal visitor upon arrival at about 6pm.

Shortly after touching down at Terminal Three of the airport, the Sultan inspected a guard-of-honour mounted by 20 men from the First Royal Malay Regiment from the Sungai Besi Camp.

Tuesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is scheduled to have an audience with His Majesty at Rumah Awang Alak Betatar, Jalan Ampang here and in the evening, the Sultan will attend an official banquet at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Raja Permaisuri Tuanku Nur Zahirah are expected to attend the banquet.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah is scheduled to visit Iskandar Camp in Mersing, Johor on Wednesday before returning to Brunei via Senai Airport.
