Jambi - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Mrs. Ani Yudhoyono arrived at the Sultan Thaha Airport here at 8.30 a.m. and were greeted by Jambi Governor Zulkifli Nurdin and some local officials.
The president and his entourage would be here to open the commemoration of 15th National Family Day (Harganas) and 5th People`s Service Month (BBGRM).
The President and his entourage proceeded to the Sports Centre Paduka Berhala to open the commemoration of the day and inaugurate the sports centre.
On the occasion, the head of state was also scheduled to pin the Wira Karya Star to three people representing 28 others who receive the star, namely Central Sulawesi governor, Sarolangun district`s head and Mayor of Cilegon.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the National Family Planning Coordinating Board (BKKBN) was also slated to present three kinds of citations, namely the Manggala Karya Kencana Star to the Bengkulu governor, Tanah Datar District`s head and Mayor of Dumai, the Dharma Karya Kencana Star and Wira Karya Kencana Star.
As that happened his routine working visits, the President would also hand over the Rp123.04 billion-worth direct assistance for the People`s Empowerment National Program (PNPM) and 5,000 packages of staples food to the Jambi governor and the People`s Business Credit.
Three state-owned banks which support the business credit, namely Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Rp85.793 billion) for 9,995 debtors, Bank BNI ( Rp25.671 billion) for 265 creditors, and Bank Mandiri (Rp5.32 billion) for 34 dectors.
The President would also inaugurate two infrastructure projects, namely the Berbak Bridge in Jabung Timur District and Paduka Berhala Sports Centre.The head of state was also scheduled to have a dialogue with local people, including those receiving the PNPM and business credit.
