Brunei signs MoU on information with Malaysia

Bandar Seri Begawan - The third Executive Committee Meeting between the Information Department of the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government of Malaysia to facilitate cooperation and exchanges in the field of information continued yesterday with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries.

The signing ceremony was held at the Information Department at the Old Airport Berakas.

Signing on behalf of Brunei`s Information Department was Awg Haji Mahrub bin Awang Haji Murni, Acting Director of Information, whilst representing Malaysia was Dato` Haji Abdullah Morad, Director-General of Information.

The MoU entails the exchange of publications and exhibitions, exchange of news and photography, as well as information officers, reporters and photographers, which were amongst the agenda put forward during the meeting.

The MoU hopes to further enhance the long-standing working relations between Brunei and Malaysia, particularly in the field of information.

The two-day joint MoU Executive Committee Meeting was attended by 13 delegates and five observers from Brunei`s Information Department and ten delegates from Malaysia`s Information Department.

During their stay in the country, the Malaysian delegates will be given the opportunity to have a closer look at the work programmes and tasks of Brunei`s Information Department.

After the MoU signing, the delegates also visited the Temburong District to have a fist-hand look at the development programmes and community activities in that district. The Malaysian delegates will also be visiting the Royal Regalia on Friday before returning to Malaysia on that same day. By P. Marilyn
