Kuching - The Malaysia Gawai Dayak Open House 2008 at the Stadium Perpaduan on Saturday promises exciting programmes for visitors, including a drama about a Bidayuh hero, entitled "Panglima Pulau".
Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Alfred Jabu said there would also be traditional musical performances by the Iban, Bisaya and Lun Bawang tribes, as well as by the Orang Ulu and Bidayuh.
"There will also be performances on the Malay and Chinese heritage," he told reporters here.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Abang Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng and Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud as well as foreign dignitaries are among 10,000 guests expected at the Open House.
Alfred Jabu said activities for the open house would begin at 7.30am with programmes like exercises and colouring contest for children.
He said it would be a colourful event which promised exciting programmes for the people and hoped that they would be at the venue to make the occassion a success.
