Bandar Seri Begawan - Representatives of the Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and East Asean Growth Area (Bimp-Eaga) 5th Meeting that the Sultanate is hosting -` made a visit to the Royal Regalia in the capital.
The visiting delegates were accompanied by Chief - Licensing Officer at the Department of Land Transport Hj Md Adi Rieza Hj Mohd and Confidential Secretary LTD Hjh Rumaizah Hj Ali.
Also accompanying the BIMP-EAGA group was Permanent Secretary Infrastructure and Communications of Sarawak Data Hj Wan Kassim Tuanku Zubir While at the Regalia, the visitors were given a tour of the `exhibition and were briefed on the various displays to give them a better understanding on the royal tradition and customs.
Shortly after their visit to the Regalia, the visiting group were also taken to the Brunei International Airport to see the development of the airport.
They also visited the RBA Training Centre where the nine delegates undertook the challenge of `flying` an airplane instead of the usual difficulties of policymaking. They made a visit to the RBA Simulator at the centre where they were given the chance to negotiate take off and landing situations in various simulated scenarios. It was a real experience for the delegates who were here for the 5th Bimp-Eaga Transport, Infrastructure and ICT Development (TIICTD) cluster meeting as they took turns taking off and landing in the flight simulator.
The Bimp-Eaga Cluster meeting consists of the Working group on Air Linkages, Sea Linkages, Land Transport, ICT and Telecommunication and Construction Materials. Amongst theachievements of the Cluster 2007 were the signing of three MoU`s on Expansion ofAir Linkages, CrossBorder Movement of Buses and Coaches and Establishing and Promoting Efficient and Integrated Sea Linkages.
The representatives who arrived in the country on March 30, began their two-day meeting Tuesday and will be leaving the country today.
