Youth - The Key To Greater Malaysia-Indonesia Bilateral Ties

Kuala Lumpur - Youth are among the keys in strengthening the bilateral ties between Indonesia and Malaysia, Indonesia`s Young Entrepreneurs Association chairman Sandiago S. Uno said today.

Describing them as agents of development and change, he said more open talks and exchange of ideas between youths of both countries would lead to greater bilateral relations.

"Business and trade were other aspects of strengthening the ties," said Sandiago at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (Isis) "International Affairs Forum on Malaysia-Indonesia Bilateral Relations-Assessment and the Way Forward" today.

He said as Indonesia was a huge market, it needed Malaysian expertise and investors.

"Malaysia is the best country to maintain a high level of investment since both countries share the same language and cultural heritage," said Sandiago, adding that another key in strengthening bilateral ties of both countries was tourism as Indonesians could learn how to lure tourists with Malaysia`s successful efforts.
