Yudhoyono arrives in Bali for UN meeting on climate change

Nusa Dua - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono arrived at Ngurah Rai International airport in Bali at 10 on Monday morning to attend United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) conference.

The Indonesian head of state is scheduled to deliver his welcoming address with UN Chief Ban Ki-moon at the opening of UNFCCC ministerial meeting on Tuesday, December 11.

Yudhoyono`s presence in the UNFCCC meeting is part of his country`s commitment to supporting the world`s attempt to deal with global climate change.

The meeting, conducted in Nusa Dua from December 3-14, is participated in by delegations from 189 countries around the world.

In his five-day working visit from December 10-15 in Bali, President Yudhoyono is also scheduled to hold tete a tete meetings with a number of foreign figures, including United States Senator John Kelly.

On the occasion, the president was accompanied by the First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Widodo AS, Minister/State Secretary Hatta Radjasa, Cabinet Secretary Sudi Silalahi, National Police Chief Gen Sutanto, and presidential spokesmen Andi Malarangeng and Dino Patti Djalal.

Also seen among the state officials, were the president` sons and daughter-in-law, Agus Harimurti, Annisa Pohan, and Edhie Baskoro.
