Indonesian Community Holds Doa Arwah Event

Kuala Belait - About 300 Indonesian Muslims working in the Mumong area recently held a Doa Arwah for their elders as well as for those who have passed away at the Kampung Pandan Mosque in Kuala Belait. Also present at the event were members of the Indonesian Women Association, members of the Indonesian Community Association and the Imam of Kampung Pandan Mosque, as well as guests.

The ceremony began with the Isyak prayers, followed by a Doa Arwah and the recital of Surah Yassin. The event also saw an opening address by the Ambassador of Indonesia to Brunei, Herijanto Soeprapto.

In his address, he hoped that Indonesians living in Brunei would become a community that will always obey Allah, as well as the laws of Brunei while living in the Sultanate. He also hoped that they would always keep in contact with the Indonesian Embassy in the capital. The ambassador also hoped to join more religious activities in the future in order to improve relations between the Indonesian community and the residents of Mumong.

Meanwhile, Pg Haji Mohammad Yunus said: "Such activity is useful for both organisers as well as the Indonesian Muslim community in Brunei."
