Malaysians In Jakarta Continue With Open House Tradition

Jakarta - Malaysians in Jakarta are continuing with the open house tradition by visiting each other as part of the Hari Raya celebrations.

Apart from enjoying traditional Malaysian delicacies like ketupat, satay and laksa together with teh tarik and listening to Raya songs, they also took the opportunity to exchange news.

The Malaysian Students Department hosted an open house at Wisma Malaysia on the first day of Aidilfitri which was attended by more than 300 students from universities in Jakarta, Bandung and West Java.

Malaysian ambassador to Indonesia, Datuk Zainal Abidin Mohamed Zain, and his wife Datin Robiah Jamaluddin held an open house at their residence yesterday which saw the presence of more than 500 Malaysians.

Those who turned up included Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor and his family who were in the Indonesian capital.

This afternoon, Malaysian embassy counsellor Shukri Janudin and his family celebrated Hari Raya together with other Malaysians at an open house at his residence here.
