Saudi Embassy Donates Malay Translated Al-Quran

Bandar Seri Begawan - The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its Royal Embassy in Brunei Darussalam has donated 150 copies of the al-Quran, which have been translated to Malay to the Tutong District`s Islamic Dakwah Unit.

The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam, Mohamad J A Hashim, presented the donation yesterday, at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Jalan Muara.

On hand to receive the donation, on behalf of the Tutong District`s Islamic Da` wah Unit, was the Head Religious Officer, Ustaz Haji Ahmad bin Haji Mohin.

The copies of the Quran will be distributed to new converts in the Tutong District so that they will be able to better understand and appreciate its teachings more adeptly.

The al-Quran has been translated by the government of Saudi Arabia to a wide variety of languages since 1997 as a legacy by the late King Fand IV.

Also present at yesterday`s event were the Saudi Arabian Charge De Affairs, Amer Al-Shri, and several officers from the Islamic Dakwah Centre. By Arnie PDH Ishak
