Exhibition displays architecture of the wild

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Museums Department will be holding an exhibition on `Birds` Nest: Architecture of the Wild` at its Natural History Gallery in Jalan Kota Batu for the next three months.

There are altogether six main types of birds` nests displayed at the exhibition corner which uses different materials, design and construction methods.

Architecture does not limit to arts and science design, building constructions and other physical structures produced by mankind alone but it also covers arts produced by the wild such as architecture in birds` nest.

Human beings use construction materials from sand, pebbles, steel and concrete cement while birds use the wild resources such as soil, leaves, grass, mud, tree branches, fibre and saliva as materials to build their nests.

This exhibition is part of the Museum Department`s collection that has been gathered through expeditions and researches and contribution from members of the public.

It aims to bring out the uniqueness, beauty and smooth architecture of birds` nests and to give awareness to the public on how important architecture is for a place of shelter. By RDN
