Brunei To Celebrate Teacher`s Day

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei Darussalam is set to celebrate 18th Teacher`s Day celebration on October 18 at the International Convention Centre, Berakas.

Themed "Teacher Mould The Young", the celebration will also see the presentation of Teacher`s Day awards to notable educators.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in his National Day titah, expressed hopes that the young generation would possess unique values that could contribute to the creation of a crime-free nation and to become premier leaders and exemplary individuals.

In order to realize the vision, teachers must he prepared to sacrifice their time and energy to guide and educate the youth so they will become individuals that are useful to their Families, the society and the nation.

Teachers must be prepared to cope with students of varied abilities and backgrounds. It is imperative that teachers he equipped with knowledge and skills, and employ state-of-the-art pedagogies that enable them lip deliver their teaching effectively.

It is also mandated that teachers exhibit exemplary personality, morality and patriotism so as to exert positive influence on the young.

With the concerted commitment of both teachers and the youth, it is hoped that the nation would succeed in producing individuals that are knowledgeable, skilful, efficient, creative, productive, innovative and competitive as envisioned in the Brunei Darussalam`s Vision 2035, which aspires to produce a citizenry that is of quality, educated, skilled, competitive, dynamic and with high economic earnings.
