Kuala Lumpur - The Ministry of Information Communication and Culture will stage the 'Faces of 1Malaysia Festival' in the United States in April in an effort to promote national culture and arts in the international arena.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said the festival would be held in two stages, the first at the National Geographic Museum, which would be open to the general public and named as 'Symbolization of Friendship Between Two Nations' which would be opened by the wife of the Prime Minister, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor on April 11.
The second stage, 'Faces of 1Malaysia Gala Night", would be held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel specifically for the country's leaders which would be opened by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on April 13, he told reporters here Tuesday.
Earlier, Rais had accompanied Rosmah to attend a preview of the cultural show that would be staged in the United States next month, at the Malaysian Tourism Centre (Matic) at Jalan Ampang, here Tuesday.
"The Malaysian image will be featured through the cultural aspects in the form of dances, songs and music which will be shown to the world leaders and community in Washington later," he said.
